Decided to create PC account and considered beginning an application: August 8, 2011

Finished application and was told to submit fingerprints and a NAC (National Agency Check): September 9, 2011

Asked to mail unofficial transcripts: September 13, 2011

Interview is set for: October 10, 2011 -Luckily the interview is done on campus + It goes well, but I am asked to get more in classroom experience teaching ESL before receiving a nomination. I am also asked to get some experience with HIV/AIDS because I am also somewhat qualified for Health Extension.

**At this point I am overwhelmed with pre-season/season training and competing for gymnastics + searching for a place to gain in-class experience around my gym and class schedule. After looking through PC's recommended list and finding nothing, I just go to the ESL department at my school where they recommend I call a prof. and ask if I can volunteer TA. I do that, and have the best experience ever teaching 2 ESL courses for 2 quarters. **Thanks teacher Pam and all my lovely students!**

  1. We have just about the exact same timeline. (I graduated from UNC in May 2012, nominated for PC English Teaching Central/South America January 2013 departure.) I'm excited to find out when other people nominated for January/February departures start hearing about medical clearance and getting invitations, etc. There's one other blog I've found with about the same timeline, so I'll be waiting to hear some news. :) Good luck, we'll keep our fingers crossed that we won't be kept waiting for too long!

  2. Hi! As a restless applicant, here I find myself on your blog again. I was just curious to know how you're occupying your time between graduation and potentially leaving for PC in a few months. It's an awkward situation to be in not studying anymore but then looking for a job but then not quite being able to commit to anything long term since my goal is to enter PC in January. I worked a couple of summer jobs and then found a couple of part-time/temporary gigs in my college town since I didn't want to live with my mom in my down time. Nothing really exciting or impressive, but I guess it's nice to have down time? What about you?

  3. Hey I totally understand your RAS. I finally got contact from Placement, and luckily I'm in Asia so my mind has been on other things. I recommend picking up a hobby and trying to stay as active as possible to keep your mind off of things. I feel like we're so close now!
